Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician to help with the practical running of the Science faculty. The faculty operates within very modern facilities that are well resourced and led by teachers who are passionate about their subjects. We require applicants who can demonstrate their ability to assist with the smooth running of the Science faculty. Duties will be varied and include preparation, monitoring and maintenance of equipment and materials, assisting with demonstrations of equipment and processes, ensuring health and safety is adhered to and staff are well supported in practicals and stock is maintained at appropriate levels.

Applications are welcomed from experienced technicians and those new to the role who have a relevant scientific background. You will need good practical skills and experience in all or some of the following areas - chemistry, biology, physics and health and safety. You must also be comfortable working closely and communicating with secondary school students. A comprehensive induction programme and full training will also be provided. A handover period with the current Science Technician will be part of this package. Applicants must be IT literate and committed to supporting the work of staff and students. Applicants will also need to work within the appropriate health & safety standards.
