Hours: 8:30am 3:30pm Monday to Friday

Smart Education is currently recruiting dedicated Science Technicians to join secondary schools across Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands‑on role, takes pride in laboratory organisation, and wants to support both staff and students in achieving excellence in science education.
Preparing and maintaining materials, equipment, and resources for science lessons and practical experiments
Assisting teachers in the delivery of science lessons where required
Ensuring all laboratories and equipment comply with health and safety standards
Supporting students with practical work, experiments, and demonstrations
Maintaining accurate records of stock, equipment, and chemicals
Helping create a safe, organised, and stimulating learning environment
Minimum of 6 months experience in a school, laboratory, or education setting UK experience essential
Knowledge of basic science laboratory procedures and health & safety practices
Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
Good communication skills and the ability to work with students and teaching staff
A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS (Child or Child & Adult Workforce), or willingness to apply
A genuine interest in supporting science education and student development
