What the Role Involves
  • Preparing and maintaining science laboratories including equipment and resources
  • Supporting teachers during practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed within labs and prep rooms
  • Managing stock and ordering materials for the department
  • Assisting with demonstrations, experiments and the smooth running of lessons
  • Using IT systems confidently to manage inventories, equipment bookings and digital resources

What the School is Looking For

The ideal Science Technician will hold a 2:1 or First Class degree from a top 30 UK University ideally in a science‑related subject. Strong IT literacy is essential as the role involves working with digital systems for lab management, stock control and supporting innovative teaching resources. Previous experience in education or a child‑centred environment is highly valued. Schools are seeking proactive, organised and committed individuals with excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK as visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary and Contract Info
  • Up to £444 per week pro rata to term time only
  • Contract: Full‑time long‑term (September–July) term‑time only
  • Opportunities for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
