Overview

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an exceptional candidate with the energy, passion and creativity to work as a Science Technician in the Science Department of our thriving All-Through school. The role is for 30 hours per week, 8.00am-2.30pm Monday to Friday (including a 30 minutes lunch break).

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of resources for practical classes, including assembling apparatus.
  • Ensuring safe storage and transit of resources.
  • Stock taking, ordering resources.
  • Maintaining a healthy, safe and productive environment in the school’s preparation rooms and laboratories.
  • Record keeping.
Requirements
  • Experience in practical science and a high level of competence as a Science Technician.
  • Excellent team player, capable of learning quickly and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and ability to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Ability to communicate well with children and young people.
  • Relevant experience in a school environment preferred.

About CFS

CFS is a free school, fully established in our state‑of‑the‑art facilities on the Carmelite Convent Site in the south of Chichester. With a primary enrolment of 60 and a secondary enrolment of 120, we run an All‑Through 4‑16 system. The school is a member of the Sussex Learning Trust and recently received a strong Good inspection rating with Outstanding Personal Development at Ofsted.

Salary and Benefits

CFS follows national pay scales. The starting point within the range listed will be agreed on appointment with the successful candidate.
