A local educational authority in Bristol seeks an experienced Science Technician to support practical science teaching in a vibrant, diverse school. The role involves preparing sessions and assisting colleagues. Strong candidates will have prior technician experience or practical teaching skills, along with a passion for science. Hours: 37 hours per week for 39 weeks (term time only)
Length of contract: This is a permanent contract to start as soon as possible
Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, that wishes to appoint an experienced Science Technician to join the technician team in our busy Science faculty.
The successful candidate will have the necessary knowledge, skills and vision to support the preparation of practical teaching sessions for general science at KS3 and with some support when necessary for the other technicians at KS4 and KS5. Previous experience of working as a school technician would be preferable, however full training will be given to the right candidate who has a passion and enthusiasm for science.
• Experience as a school technician or equivalent practical science teaching experience.
• Passion and enthusiasm for science, with the ability to deliver engaging practical sessions.
• Willingness to work flexibly and support colleagues across KS4 and KS5.
All staff will need to be DBS checked.
