The Role: Full-Time Physics Teacher

This is a full-time position commencing in January. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for planning, teaching, and assessing Physics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This crucial role demands a specialist subject teacher capable of delivering engaging and challenging lessons that foster a deep appreciation for the physical world and encourage students to pursue science at higher education levels. Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination board specifications.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated Physics lessons across all key stages.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Manage and maintain a safe, stimulating, and organised laboratory environment.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of the Science curriculum.
  • Attend and participate in departmental and whole-school meetings and training.
  • Support and guide students through examination preparation, including A-Level.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
  • Organise and lead extra-curricular science clubs or activities.
  • Use data to inform teaching practices and target intervention strategies.
