Job Title: Science Teacher (Biology Specialist QTS or ECT)

Location: Frome

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: £150 - £200 per day (depending on experience)

Working Pattern: Full-time, Long-term

Are you a qualified Science Teacher or an enthusiastic ECT with a specialism in Biology?

Would you feel confident delivering lessons in other Science subjects when plans are already provided?

Are you looking for a full-time role in a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school?

TeacherActive is proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic secondary school in Frome, which is looking to appoint a Science Teacher to join their team ASAP. The ideal candidate will have a Biology specialism, and be comfortable teaching general Science across KS3 and KS4, with pre-planned lessons provided for Chemistry and Physics content.

This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The school is known for its inclusive approach, supportive leadership team, and strong focus on staff development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Specialise in Biology, with the ability to deliver engaging lessons in other Sciences with support
  • Be committed to fostering curiosity, confidence, and resilience in young learners
  • Be adaptable, well-organised, and positive in approach
  • Work well as part of a collaborative Science department
