Location: South Manchester

Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract Type: Long-term / Full-time

Are you a qualified Science Teacher with a specialism in Biology? Do you want to make a lasting impact in a school where your skills and passion for inclusive education are truly valued?

Join a well-resourced specialist secondary school in South Manchester, teaching KS3 and KS4 Science with a focus on Biology up to GCSE level. This is a unique opportunity to work with students who have additional learning needs, such as autism and ADHD, in a smaller classroom setting where your teaching will make a genuine difference.

The Role – Science Teacher (Biology Specialism)
  • Teach KS3–KS4 Science, with a Biology focus at KS4
  • Chemistry and Physics will be taught only up to Key Stage 3
  • Inspire students with creative and engaging lessons
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive teaching team
  • Manage Teaching Assistants within your classroom
  • Help shape the direction of the Science Department
  • Play a key role in improving student outcomes in a nurturing, inclusive environment
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – required
  • A Science-related degree, ideally with a Biology specialism
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3–KS4 level
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Excellent classroom communication and organisation
  • Understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices (preferred)
  • A genuine passion for making science accessible to all learners
