Job summary

Healing Academy, part of Harbour Learning Trust, is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Science to deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 lessons and raise attainment. You will join a supportive team committed to academic excellence and personal growth, ensuring students acquire essential knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an undergraduate degree are essential.
  • Experience teaching in a secondary environment (KS3 & KS4).
  • Strong IT skills and commitment to CPD.
  • Deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and pupil wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and ability to build positive relationships with staff and students.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach well-organised science lessons aligned to curriculum and current pedagogy.
  • Use diverse strategies and eLearning tools to meet learner needs and raise attainment.
  • Maintain a safe learning environment and manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Support social, emotional, and behavioural development of students, modelling professionalism.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and reflect on feedback to raise standards.

You will join a team dedicated to academic excellence and personal growth, ensuring that our students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in the future,

  • Plan and teach well-organised lessons informed by up-to-date pedagogical and subject knowledge.
  • Use a range of strategies and eLearning tools to meet diverse learner needs and raise pupil attainment.
  • Maintain a secure understanding of the technology curriculum and its contribution to cross-curricular learning.
  • Establish a purposeful and safe learning environment, managing behavior constructively in line with school policies.
  • Support the social, emotional, and behavioral skills of students, acting as a role model and contributing to the wider school ethos., We will communicate regularly and with clarity with our stakeholders and with each other, welcoming and reflecting on constructive feedback from others
