Science Teacher – Shrewsbury (KS3–KS4)

We’re supporting a well-regarded secondary school in Shrewsbury as they look to appoint a committed Science Teacher for a January 2026 start. This is a long‑term supply role suited to a QTS or ECT teacher who enjoys hands‑on, well‑sequenced science teaching and can slot confidently into an established department.

The Role

You’ll deliver engaging, well‑structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, following the school’s clear schemes of work while bringing your own practical ideas to enhance learning. The department is well‑resourced, and the SLT places a strong focus on behaviour routines, giving you a stable platform to teach effectively. Planning and marking are expected, but staff well‑being is taken seriously, and expectations are sensible.

The Candidate

You’ll be a confident Science specialist with QTS or ECT status and the ability to deliver consistently strong lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3–KS4. You should bring a calm, proactive approach to behaviour management and a willingness to contribute to a collaborative department. Strong communication skills and an ability to build rapport quickly with pupils are essential.
