Pay Scale: £150 - £260 per day – depending on experience & Contract Type

Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver a comprehensive and engaging science curriculum that covers essential topics across various scientific disciplines.
  • Effective Classroom Instruction: Provide clear and effective instruction, utilising innovative teaching methods, technology, and real-world examples to make complex scientific concepts accessible and relatable to students.
  • Student Assessment: Assess student progress through a variety of evaluation methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, presentations, and practical experiments, and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills in students, guiding them towards their academic and personal development, and preparing them for future roles in the scientific community.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and organised classroom environment that encourages active participation, teamwork, and a strong passion for science among students.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in science and education, bringing current industry insights into the classroom and participating in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Qualified Teacher Status (ideally PGCE, GTP, BEd, Cert Ed, BA with QTS) in Science.
  • Prior experience teaching Science to secondary school students.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • DBS on Updated Service.
