Job description

We're seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Luton on a long‑term supply basis from January 2026. You'll deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and achievement across the science curriculum, helping students build confidence and secure strong outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons across KS3-KS4 (ability to contribute to KS5/A‑Level is desirable).
  • Assess, mark and provide timely feedback to support progress for all learners.
  • Maintain excellent classroom management and a positive learning environment.
  • Contribute to department planning, meetings and, where appropriate, whole‑school activities/CPD.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience teaching Science in UK secondary settings is essential.
  • QTS or ECT status is desirable (strong unqualified teachers with significant experience also considered).
  • Strong behaviour management, communication and differentiation skills.
  • Right to work in the UK; willingness to complete all compliance checks.
Desirable
  • Experience teaching GCSE Science; A‑Level experience advantageous.
  • Familiarity with current exam specifications and evidence‑based pedagogy.
