Are you an enthusiastic Science Teacher looking for your next teaching opportunity?

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and inspiring Science Teacher to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in Burnley. This full-time position is to cover a maternity leave starting in January 2026, initially for six months, with a strong possibility of continuing beyond this period.

Position Details
  • Job Title: Science Teacher (Maternity Cover - Secondary School)
  • Location: Burnley, Lancashire
  • Start Date: January 2026
  • Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover (6 Months Initially - Likely to Extend)
  • Daily Rate: £168 - £215 per day
About the role
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Science lessons aligned to the national curriculum
  • Plan and prepare lessons that cater to the full ability range within the classroom
  • Support pupils' academic progress through effective differentiation and assessment
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure a consistent and inclusive learning experience
  • Create a positive classroom culture that promotes curiosity, achievement, and respect
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school life as required
The ideal candidate will
