Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Science Teacher to join our client’s team in Oldham. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering a love of science and preparing learners for GCSE examinations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or combined science).
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Science examinations, ensuring strong academic progress.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student achievement in line with school policies.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students, including high-achievers, those with special educational needs (SEN), and students requiring extra support.
  • Maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies, including practical experiments and digital tools, to enhance learning.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate progress to parents and colleagues.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of teaching resources within the science department.
  • Support extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, STEM events, or competitions.
Qualifications & Skills
