Qualifications

• A degree in a Science subject or previous experience as a Science or Lab Technician.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A good understanding of laboratory safety and procedures.
• Enthusiasm for science and education.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, and dismantle equipment for practical science lessons.
• Support teachers during experiments and demonstrations.
• Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals and laboratory materials.
• Maintain clean, organised, and well-stocked prep rooms and labs.
• Assist with the maintenance and repair of scientific equipment.
• Follow strict health and safety procedures and update risk assessments where needed.
• Support the wider science department with administrative and organisational tasks.
