Job summary

St Dunstan's School is seeking a Science Technician to support the Science department by preparing labs and ensuring safe, well-equipped practical lessons. You will manage the prep room and laboratories, keeping the curriculum on track and engaging for students.

The role emphasizes safety, routine calibrations, and collaboration with teaching staff to deliver high-quality experiments. 25 hours per week with permanent contract, and a welcoming team in a developing school in the South West.

Qualifications

• COSHH and Health & Safety procedures.
• Experience in setting up laboratories and practical equipment.
• Ability to calibrate and maintain lab apparatus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratories with required chemicals and apparatus, and clean equipment after use.
• Perform routine safety checks, risk assessments, and calibrations.
• Assist teaching staff and students during experiments and demonstrate safe equipment use.
• Carry out routine repairs or arrange servicing for lab equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and order supplies, manage hazardous materials storage.
