Large Secondary School – graded good
Can you commit to a long-term role – the remainder of this academic year at least – as a graduate teaching assistant of science?
This good, graded school has funding for two graduate teaching assistants of science. As a science graduate teaching assistant, you will support teachers in class and focus on targeted learners – to help them to reach their full potential.
A targeted learner is an identified pupil who has a barrier to progress – social emotional challenges, behavioural, a specific SEN or additional need. You will work in class, and with training, in small groups or 1-2-1 exercises to promote progress and to help learners reach attainment goals.
You will be working with the teaching and SEN teams to deliver plans or progress across the age and ability ranges. These opportunities will be a great first step for a prospective future teacher. The school is part of a larger academy school group and can offer salaried teacher training from September 2027.
