Job summary

Join our Inclusion Team as a School Family Support Worker. A dedicated role working with children and families to provide early intervention, improve attendance, and coordinate Early Help support within a supportive school environment.

This role focuses on safeguarding, family engagement, and collaboration with external agencies to remove barriers to learning and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, young people and families.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and Early Help processes.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and carers.
• Experience improving attendance and supporting vulnerable children and families.

Responsibilities

• Improve pupil attendance and work with families to overcome barriers to education.
• Lead Early Help Assessments and plans as Lead Professional for effective support.
• Develop and review support plans to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils, families and carers through early intervention and home visits.
• Deliver evidence-based one-to-one and small group interventions to support wellbeing, engagement and attendance.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our ambitious and successful Inclusion Team.

This is a rewarding role at the heart of our school, working closely with children and families to provide early intervention, improve attendance, coordinate Early Help support and remove barriers to learning. Through evidence-based interventions and strong partnerships with families and external agencies, you will help mitigate the impact of disadvantage and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, empathetic and skilled in engaging families from diverse backgrounds. If you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and empowering families, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Improve pupil attendance and work proactively with families to identify and overcome barriers to education.
• Lead and coordinate Early Help Assessments and plans, acting as Lead Professional to ensure effective support for children and families.
• Develop, implement and review effective support plans to improve outcomes for children and families.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and carers through early intervention, support and home visits.
• Deliver evidence-based one-to-one and small group interventions to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, engagement, attendance and outcomes
• Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support children and families facing challenges.
• Work collaboratively with school staff, external agencies and community services to ensure coordinated support and access to appropriate resources.
• Maintain accurate records, monitor impact and contribute to safeguarding and child-centred practice at all times.
