Job summary

Academics in Dartford is seeking a full-time School Site Manager to join a welcoming school. This hands-on role combines caretaking, facilities, and site leadership, with Monday to Friday hours and a focus on safety, maintenance, and operations.

You will oversee opening/closing, supervise site staff and contractors, carry out safety checks, prepare rooms for lessons and events, and uphold high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaker, site manager, or facilities role (desirable).
• Strong leadership skills, including supervising staff or contractors.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability.
• Good knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures; ability to work independently and use initiative.
• An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily opening, closing, and security of the school site.
• Manage general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
• Carry out routine health and safety checks to ensure full compliance.
• Supervise site staff, cleaning teams, and external contractors.
• Prepare rooms and facilities for lessons, events, and school activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented environment across the site.
• Provide ad-hoc support to staff with site-related requirements.
• Implement and uphold site procedures and operational standards.
