Job summary

Bucks and Berks Recruitment is recruiting a Site Manager for a local school near Iver. The role covers day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the site, with a hands-on approach and a focus on safety and compliance.

The role is 37 hours per week with a driving licence essential, and you will work closely with the school leadership to ensure smooth operation and well-presented premises including events and lettings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Caretaker, Premises Manager or similar role.
• Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and building compliance requirements.
• Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance schedules.
• Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
• Experience supervising staff or contractors.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Flexible approach and willingness to support occasional out-of-hours activities and events.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the school site and grounds.
• Ensure all buildings, facilities and outdoor areas are safe, clean, secure and well maintained.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Monitor and manage health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Carry out regular site inspections, risk assessments and safety checks.
• Manage contractors and oversee works carried out on site.
• Line manage the Assistant Site Officer and coordinate with the cleaning contractor supervisor to maintain high standards across the site.
• Support the preparation and setup for school events, activities and lettings.
• Assist with site security, including opening and closing procedures where required.
• Drive and maintain the school minibus as required, subject to the appropriate licence and necessary checks.
• Maintain accurate records relating to maintenance, compliance and health and safety.
