Job summary

Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School in Reading is hiring a Site Assistant to help keep the school site clean, safe and well-maintained for students and staff. The role includes opening and closing duties on a rotating basis, assisting with minor repairs and security, and setting up rooms for events.

We are seeking a reliable, proactive team player who can work independently and adapt to the needs of the school, including occasional longer hours as required.

Qualifications

• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Basic maintenance and DIY skills desirable.
• Willingness to adapt to school needs including flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Support upkeep, maintenance, cleanliness and security of the school site.
• Open/close school buildings on a rotation (6:30am to 6:00pm).
• Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Assist with site security and health & safety procedures.
• Set up rooms/spaces for events and activities.
• Be flexible to meet school requirements.
