Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream secondary school in Solihull to recruit School Site Assistants for two ongoing temporary roles from September 2026. One role starts with early morning opening; the other closes the site in the evening.

Both positions run Monday to Friday, within a busy school site, ensuring safety, security and a well-presented environment for pupils and staff. Salary is paid at £15.00 - £16.65 per hour under PAYE, with opportunities for CPD and referral rewards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Caretaker, School Site Assistant or Site Staff member within a school is essential.
• Experience carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties.
• The ability to confidently follow site opening, closing and security procedures.
• A reliable and punctual approach to fixed working hours.
• The ability to work effectively under the direction of the Site Manager.
• A practical, proactive and hard-working attitude.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school in Solihull who are looking to appoint two School Site Assistants to join their site services team. This is a great opportunity to become part of a busy school environment, helping to ensure the site remains safe, secure and well-presented for pupils and staff.

The school is looking for two School Site Assistants on an ongoing temporary basis from September 2026, working fixed hours Monday to Friday. Working closely with the Site Manager, one School Site Assistant will open the school and work from early morning until early afternoon, while the second will work from early afternoon until the evening, securing and closing the site after on-site facilities have finished, alongside completing general caretaking and site duties.

The successful School Site Assistant will have:

• Previous experience working as a Caretaker, School Site Assistant or Site Staff member within a school is essential

• Experience carrying out general caretaking and site maintenance duties

• The ability to confidently follow site opening, closing and security procedures

• A reliable and punctual approach to fixed working hours

• The ability to work effectively under the direction of the Site Manager

• A practical, proactive and hard-working attitude
