Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a small independent school in Hemel Hempstead. You will oversee maintenance, estates, grounds, cleaning, catering, health and safety, contractors, and budget management, reporting to the Headmaster and working with Harrow School Group functions.

The role requires hands-on operations, facilities or site management experience, budget control, contractor management, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience within operations, facilities, estates, site management, maintenance, or a similar background.
• Experience managing operational teams.
• Strong understanding of health and safety, maintenance, cleaning, catering, and estates operations.
• Budget management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operational running of the school site.
• Oversee maintenance, estates, grounds, cleaning, catering, health and safety, contractors, and suppliers.
• Work closely with the Headmaster and Senior Leadership Team.
• Liaise with central group functions including IT, HR, Finance, and estates support.
• Manage budgets and work with the accounts function where required.
• Support operational standards across a varied school estate, including historic and newer buildings.
