Job description

We are currently recruiting to backfill maternity leave in the Gloucestershire School Nursing Service. Part‑time SCHOOL NURSE fixed‑term position for 13 months starting on 2nd March 2026, based in Tewkesbury! 30 hours – 4 days per week. We are looking for a registered nurse or midwife to work with children and families in the School Nursing team in the Tewkesbury locality, 30 hours over 4 days a week.

What you’ll be doing
  • An induction programme, training and competency framework to underpin transition into role
  • Clinical supervision, restorative supervision and safeguarding children supervision to support professional practice
  • Digital appointments to young people and parents offering quick and easy access to health advice and support
  • Social media platforms and a texting service in response to requests of young people and families
  • Diverse work in a skill‑mixed team developed through robust competency and operating frameworks
  • Work with children and families to provide advice, support and signposting using public health skills of enabling and empowering families and communities to help themselves
