Job summary

East of England Community Health & Care NHS Trust is seeking a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) to join the North Locality team in Wisbech, Doddington or Huntingdon. You will promote good health, prevent illness in young people, and work within the 0–19 Healthy Child Programme with an emphasis on early intervention and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience as a School Nurse or SCPHN would be welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to identify the health needs of children and young people, their families and the school community and contribute to developing a strategy to address the identified needs.
• Plan, implement and evaluate individual health care plans for pupils with complex health needs.
• Carry out shifts within the duty desk receiving referrals and liaising with key stakeholders, parents/carers and young people.
• Support schools in medicine management procedures and coordinate health promotion activities.
• Provide health promotion, safeguarding, and public health programmes within a defined area and liaise with partner agencies.
