Job description

Dean Close Foundation is looking to appoint a registered nurse (NMC & RCN) to join our Health Centre team of four, supporting a community of nearly 1,000 pupils, many of whom are boarders. Paediatric, School Nurse, or SCPHN qualification preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, clinically effective nursing care to pupils and Foundation staff.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, and treat pupils, including first aid and emergency care.
  • Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other health professionals.
  • Support pupils’ return to health and participation in school activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records, care plans, and adhere to safeguarding policies.
  • Ensure Health Centre compliance with NHS, NMC, CQC, and ISI standards.
  • Provide training to staff on health management and emergency interventions.
Working Hours & On-Call
  • Rota-based, 08:00–17:00, Monday to Saturday, with evening and weekend on-call duties.
Desirable Skills
  • Asthma specialist, phlebotomy, immunisations, triage, first responder experience.
