Job summary

Hutchesons’ Grammar School in Glasgow is seeking a Matron (NMC registered) for maternity cover up to 12 months, reporting to the Depute Rector for Pastoral Care. The Matron will deliver professional nursing services, caring for pupils’ health, responding to emergencies and supporting physical and emotional wellbeing across the Senior School.

You will work with pastoral teams, parents and external healthcare professionals to ensure confidential, compassionate care and contribute to health

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience.
• Enthusiasm for health education and promotion.
• Confidence and experience in providing triage care.
• Urgent care, primary care or school nurse experience.
• Experience managing safeguarding issues with children.
• IT skills and knowledge of healthcare software applications.
• Experience delivering/teaching health related sessions.

Responsibilities

• Medical Care: Provide triage and urgent care; manage medical complaints; liaise with parents and GPs.
• Support: Communicate with teaching staff about pupil welfare; safeguarding responsibilities; contribute to health promotion.
• Administration: Maintain medical records; incident reporting; co-ordinate audits and health protocols; manage medical supplies.
