School Librarian – Permanent contract (term time only – 38 weeks). Part time – 4 days. Start date: To be confirmed. Salary: NJC Scale SO2 (£26,378 – £27,611), actual pro‑rate. Closing date: 12:00 pm – Friday 9 January 2026. Interview: w/c Monday 12 January 2026.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and organised School Librarian to join our vibrant school community. The successful candidate will manage and develop the school library, supporting both students and staff in accessing and using resources effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of reading, research, and learning across all year groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the school library.
  • Maintain and develop the library collection, ensuring it meets curriculum and student needs.
  • Support staff and students in finding and using resources effectively.
  • Promote reading and literacy across the school.
  • Organise library events, workshops, and reading programmes.
  • Monitor and manage library budgets and stock.
  • Implement digital and physical library systems.
Person Specification
  • Passionate about reading and literacy.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing library resources or similar educational settings (desirable).
  • Confidence using digital library systems and technology to support learning.
