Job summary

Sodexo is hiring at Nishkam School West London to support the Cook Manager in daily kitchen operations. You will prepare, cook, present, and serve meals, supervise catering staff, and ensure high standards of food safety and customer service.

You will train team members, manage portions, and maintain a clean, efficient kitchen aligned with Sodexo policies. The role requires a catering qualification (7061/7062 or NVQ Level 1/2) and at least 1 year of hands-on cooking experience in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• Must have catering qualification (7061/7062 or NVQ Level 1/2).
• Minimum 1 year hands-on cooking experience in a busy kitchen.
• Experience with large-scale cooking for up to 1,300 students.
• Experience with fresh produce and quality ingredients.
• Knowledge of Food Safety, Health & Safety, Allergen Awareness, COSHH, and HACCP procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cook Manager with day-to-day running and supervision of the school kitchen.
• Prepare, cook, present and serve food to company standards across meals and hospitality services.
• Supervise catering staff and provide on-the-job training.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented to high standards and portioned correctly.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and hygiene throughout kitchen areas.
• Assist with stock control, food ordering and waste reduction.
• Report issues to the Cook Manager or line manager.
• Lead by example and promote Sodexo standards and values.
