Job summary

STEP Academy Trust in La Fontaine is seeking an energetic Kitchen Manager to lead our school kitchen. You will oversee daily cooking, staff supervision and rota planning, while ensuring safety, hygiene and nutritious meals for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking.
• Experience of managing staff.
• Ability to lead and motivate staff.
• Willingness to train and progress.
• Read and complete simple instructions (rotas, sheets).
• Communicate with kitchen, academy staff and pupils.
• Maintain high standard of personal hygiene.
• Encourage children to select a balanced meal.

Responsibilities

• Lead the La Fontaine kitchen and its daily operations.
• Manage and develop kitchen staff and rota planning.
• Read and complete cleaning and temperature control sheets.
• Communicate effectively with academy staff and pupils.
• Maintain high hygiene standards across all duties.
