Job summary

Cyngor Sir Ceredigion County Council is recruiting a Cook in Charge for Plascrug Primary School in Aberystwyth. The role is a permanent, part-time position (5 hours per week) managing the school kitchen day-to-day, including dinner service, special diets, and strict adherence to Food Safety, Environmental Health, and Manual Handling standards.

The successful candidate will have catering experience, adaptability, and will be DBS checked as part of safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a catering environment.
• Adaptability to multi-task roles.
• DBS check required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage the school kitchen on a day-to-day basis.
• Prepare and serve school dinners for pupils.
• Prepare meals in line with special diets.
• Ensure Food Safety and Environmental Health standards are met.
• Observe Manual Handling and EEC standards.
• Oversee general Health and Safety of kitchen and equipment.
