Job summary

Chartwells is seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to be the heart of our operation in Wickford. This full-time role is contracted to 35 hours per week across Mon-Fri days and 43.6 weeks per year.

You will prepare high-quality food, keep the kitchen clean, use equipment correctly, and assist with deliveries while upholding our brand image and food hygiene standards. You’ll work as part of Compass Group UK&I and must be able to handle pressure and work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen and surrounding areas.
• Ensuring the correct use of all machinery and equipment.
• Assisting with loading or unloading deliveries and supply vehicles.
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations; managing pressure and prioritising tasks.
• Be an excellent team player and maintain an organised approach.
