Job summary

Berry Recruitment on the Wirral is seeking School Catering Assistants to support primary and secondary schools. Roles are temporary with flexible hours, typically 9am–2pm, Monday to Friday. Immediate start available.

DBS clearance and online training in Food Hygiene, Food Allergen Awareness, Safeguarding and KCSIE are required (training costs listed). The agency offers a helpful, supportive team environment. Positions are temporary and flexible; full-time permanent roles are not offered.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance required.
• Online training in Food Hygiene, Food Allergen Awareness, Safeguarding and KCSIE is mandatory.
• Training costs (£2.50 each) are payable by the applicant or facilitated by Berry Recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food to students and staff.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness (washing up, cleaning).
• Serve food in a friendly, polite manner.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist with safeguarding duties.
