Job summary

Derbyshire Catering Service is hiring a Catering Assistant to join a dedicated kitchen team at Park Federation School, Shirebrook. You will support the kitchen supervisor, help with food preparation, cooking, portion control and dining room setup for service.

Successful candidates will have an NVQ food hygiene certificate and demonstrate a team-oriented attitude suitable for a school environment. Applicants should be prepared to work across production and servery units.

Qualifications

• NVQ food hygiene certificate required on appointment.
• Ability to work as part of a kitchen team.
• Experience in a school catering environment (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support the kitchen supervisor in all areas of service.
• Assist with food preparation, cooking and portion control.
• Ensure allergen compliance and prepare the dining room for service.
• Serve meals and help maintain food hygiene and safety standards.
