HR and Finance Administrator

Location: Ilford, East London
Start Date: January 2026
Pay: £16 - £19 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent placement)

Remedy Education is looking for a highly organised and proactive HR and Finance Administrator to join a friendly and successful school in Ilford from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience in the education sector who is confident working across both HR and finance functions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance, and efficient communication across departments.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain accurate HR and staff records using Arbor
  • Process new starter paperwork, contracts, DBS checks, and absence tracking
  • Support payroll preparation and maintain staff attendance and leave records
  • Assist with financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices, and reconciliation
  • Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external agencies regarding payments and HR queries
  • Support the School Business Manager with budget monitoring and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies at all times
  • Provide general administrative support and contribute to a positive office environment
Ideal candidate
  • Experience using Arbor (essential)
  • Previous experience working in a school office or educational setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and school management systems
  • Knowledge of HR and finance processes, ideally within education
  • Professional, discreet, and approachable with a strong work ethic
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS
