Job Description:

Contract: Temporary - 5 Weeks

The Play Service is seeking enthusiastic workers passionate about working with children and young people. The role involves being part of a team providing play activities during school holidays, such as Play and Wellbeing Camps, Food and Fun Camps, and playschemes to promote positive wellbeing.

The post holder will oversee a small team of staff and volunteers to deliver play-based activities that encourage positive mental and physical wellbeing.

Previous experience of Playwork or working with children and young people is preferred.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Qualifications / Experience:
Essential
  • Attainment of or working towards a relevant level 3 qualification in Playwork, Youthwork, Early Years Care, or equivalent.
  • A good understanding of the importance of play for children, young people, and the community.
  • Previous experience working with children and young people.
Desirable
  • Proven experience in Playwork, Youthwork, Early Years, or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting staff and passing on relevant information.
  • Practical experience in delivering stimulating play activities for children with various abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks for smooth operation of the playscheme.
