Orchard Manor School is looking for a reliable Grounds Person & Maintenance Assistant to maintain the school grounds and ensure a tidy and welcoming environment. You will carry out general upkeep and minor repairs supporting health and safety checks, creating a thriving environment for pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance, caretaking, or similar practical roles is essential.
• Confident use of hand tools and basic machinery is required.
• Understanding of basic health & safety and COSHH requirements is critical.
• A practical, dependable, and proactive work approach is expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the school grounds to a high standard, including lawns and pathways.
• Carry out minor repairs, decoration, and general upkeep tasks.
• Monitor health & safety checks across the site.
• Use hand tools and basic machinery safely.
• Support contractors or external teams as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and COSHH guidance.
