Job description

Location: London Borough of Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, HA3 8NT Rate: £18.22 per hour Contract: Temporary/Ongoing Working Pattern: Hybrid

We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Financial Administrator to join a busy and supportive team within the London Borough of Harrow.

This is primarily a home-based role, with office attendance required when necessary. Candidates may also be required to visit schools across the borough to provide support as needed. Please note that during the initial training period, the successful candidate must be available to work full-time on site.

The Role:

As a School Financial Administrator, you will provide financial and administrative support to schools and education services, ensuring the accurate processing of financial information while delivering a high standard of customer service to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing financial transactions, invoices, payments and related finance administration activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records, databases and documentation.
  • Supporting schools with finance-related queries and administrative tasks.
  • Providing high-quality administrative support to education services.

Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a financial administration role.
  • Experience processing invoices, payments, budgets or other financial transactions.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • A resilient, patient and professional approach when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage difficult conversations and challenging situations effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
