Are you an enthusiastic responsible and detail-driven individual with strong administrative and financial skills A high-performing secondary school in Reading is looking to appoint a dedicated School Finance Officer to join their Business Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys financial processes teamwork and supporting the smooth daily running of a busy school.

The Role

In this central role you will ensure that financial procedures are carried out efficiently accurately and in full compliance with school and trust policies. You will work alongside the School Business Manager and a friendly collaborative administration team.

Responsibilities
  • Processing all purchase ledger transactions
  • Supporting budget holders with financial updates and expenditure tracking
  • Reconciling accounts managing petty cash and recording school income
  • Preparing reports for senior leaders and governors
  • Handling financial administration for school trips events and curriculum activities
  • Supporting payroll verification and staff expense processes
  • Managing supplier queries statements and contract documentation
  • Maintaining audit-ready records and supporting internal audits
  • Assisting with financial compliance linked to DfE and local authority guidelines
