Job summary

Catshill Federation (Catshill Middle School & Catshill First School) is seeking a financially-minded School Business Manager to oversee budgets, forecasts, payroll and financial reporting, ensuring resources support teaching and learning.

You will work closely with the Headteacher, School Business Manager and Trust Central Team to manage day-to-day financial operations, procurement, audits and compliance, driving value for money across the federation.

Qualifications

• Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills.
• Experience in financial management, budgeting and financial administration is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, forecasts and financial reports to support planning and decision-making.
• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including purchasing, invoices and payments.
• Identify opportunities to secure additional funding, grants and income.
• Oversee financial compliance, audits, procurement and value for money.
• Lead financial and operational administration of Wraparound Care provision.
• Check monthly payroll reports and support staff with pay-related queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records, asset inventories and statutory returns.
• Ensure compliance with Trust policies and statutory requirements.
