Are you a detail‑oriented finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact in education? Crofton Academy is seeking a skilled and proactive Finance Manager to lead and manage our financial operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and strategic support across the school.

About the Role

As Finance Manager, you will play a key role in planning, developing, and maintaining the financial services of the Academy. You'll work closely with the School Business Manager and Director of Finance to ensure financial security, support budget holders, and manage day‑to‑day financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Academy and departmental budgets and provide financial reports.
  • Manage financial transactions including purchase orders, invoices, reconciliations, and petty cash.
  • Oversee lettings and facilities hire services, including income reconciliation.
  • Support staff with trips, budget queries, and procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Line manage the Finance Administrator and contribute to policy development.
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • 5 GCSEs (A*-C / 9-4) including English and Maths.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Substantial experience in financial systems and procedures.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills.
  • Ability to interpret accounting principles and offer constructive advice.

Desirable:

  • Accountancy qualification.
  • Experience in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of Academy accounting practices.
