Job summary

Reed in Slough is seeking a Senior Finance Officer (School) to provide accurate financial support to the Trust. This role ensures effective operation of financial systems, helping the school use funding wisely and gain value for money.

You will support budget monitoring, assist in year-end accounts, and manage payroll-related tasks while maintaining controls. This is an office-based, full-time post with responsibilities across budgeting and procurement.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified accountant status or relevant experience (ESSENTIAL).
• Experience working in Accounts within a school (ESSENTIAL).
• Educated to at least 'A' level status; proficient IT skills including Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Finance and Financial Controller in budget monitoring and procurement processes.
• Assist the Senior Management Team during year-end accounts and annual budget setting.
• Ensure income matches expenditure; maintain contracts register and payroll monitoring.
• Lead budget monitoring for Special Education Needs and process supplier invoices.
• Provide operational support to the finance team as needed.
