Job summary

Claires Court School in Maidenhead, Berkshire is seeking a School Facilities and Maintenance Technician. This permanent, full-time role covers a 52-week year with a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, starting November 2026.

You will maintain buildings, facilities and grounds, handle repairs, and support the Estates Team to ensure the site runs smoothly for pupils and staff. You will prioritise maintenance requests, perform routine safety checks and prepare spaces for events.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance, caretaking or a similar practical role is essential.
• An electrical or plumbing qualification would be an advantage.
• Able to work independently, manage changing priorities and help colleagues as needed.

Responsibilities

• General repairs to doors, windows, locks, flooring and furniture, plus painting, decorating and basic carpentry.
• Minor plumbing and electrical work within your competence, including fault finding and sourcing parts.
• Keep outdoor areas safe, tidy, drains and gutters, support grounds work.
• Set up furniture and equipment for examinations, assemblies and events.
• Deliveries and driving company vehicles to collect materials or move equipment between sites.
• Support swimming pool maintenance and complete routine safety checks.
• Open/secure buildings and respond to occasional emergency callouts, following safety procedures.
