Job summary

Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow seeks an Assistant Janitor to join our Estates team. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a shift pattern including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

You will support daily operations, cleanliness, security and upkeep of buildings and grounds, undertake routine cleaning and basic maintenance, and help ensure a safe environment for pupils and staff. PVG eligibility and a full driving licence are required.

Qualifications

• Reliable, flexible and able to work on own initiative.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt to changing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain school buildings and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Undertake routine cleaning, basic maintenance and practical support duties.
• Assist with opening/closing, security checks and on-call alarm responses.
• Support moving furniture, equipment, deliveries and event setup.
