Education Authority in Northern Ireland is seeking a Catering Assistant to actively participate in the daily operation of the Catering Unit under the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. The role focuses on hygienic service, customer satisfaction, and promoting meals to pupils.

Responsibilities include food preparation, basic cooking, meal serving, dining area setup, kitchen and dining room duties, temperature recording, and adherence to school values and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages and vegetables using appropriate equipment.
• Simple cooking, including reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Assisting with promotion of meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining regular contact with the central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area: set tables, chairs, and serving points as required.
• Completing general kitchen and dining duties including washing up.
• Cleaning the kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment.
• Recording temperatures for control purposes as required.
• Securing premises as required.
• Carrying out duties as delegated in connection with service provision.
• Complying with Acts of Parliament, codes of practice and regulations.
• Carrying out duties in the normal working conditions of the job.
• Completing all necessary administration.
• Carrying out duties for jobs up to and including those in the same grade.
• Promoting and adhering to the Values/ethos of the School.
