Job summary

Holroyd Howe is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support day-to-day food and service delivery across a school. You will help ensure pupils, staff and visitors receive high‑quality, nutritious meals and be involved in service setup, cleanliness, and allergen controls.

The role offers opportunities to contribute to hospitality events and develop within a leading school catering provider in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or catering is preferred.
• Ability to work across kitchen and service areas.
• Demonstrates good allergen controls.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Flexible with weekends or shifts.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
• Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
• Accountability for following and championing allergen controls.
