Job summary

Acre Hall Primary School in Manchester is recruiting a Food Service Assistant to support a busy school kitchen and dining operation. Working 20 hours per week during term-time (39 weeks), you will assist with food preparation, serving and maintaining hygiene standards, within a supportive Sodexo team.

The role offers training, a friendly environment, and opportunities to grow within a values-driven catering service for education sites.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks.
• Previous catering or food service experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages.
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas.
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required.
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to customers, colleagues or visitors.
