Job summary

Hampshire County Council is recruiting a School Crossing Patrol for a term-time, permanent role at a designated crossing in Romsey. You will help children and families cross the road safely during school runs, acting as a calm, visible presence and promoting road safety in the local community.

Working 10 hours per week during school terms (typically one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon), you will receive a uniform and join a valued team.

Qualifications

• Dependable, responsible and committed to road safety.
• Ability to work at designated crossing points with vigilance.
• Good communication and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Assist children and families to cross the road safely during school runs.
• Be a calm, reassuring presence at crossing points while managing traffic.
• Work 10 hours weekly during term-time, typically morning and afternoon.
• Wear the provided uniform and stay aware of weather conditions.
