Job summary

Oakfield Academy in Frome, Somerset seeks a dedicated Cover Manager/Pastoral Support Mentor to organise cover for absent teachers and support pupils with their learning. You will manage timetables and supervise classes, while also contributing to pastoral provision using ELSA strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating cover for absent teachers.
• Ability to supervise a class of up to 30 pupils and provide work set by teachers.
• Strong communication and IT skills with a calm, flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Organise cover for absent teachers to ensure timely lessons throughout the day.
• Cover the absent teacher's timetable and supervise classes as needed.
• Support pupils’ education provision as Pastoral Support Mentor using ELSA strategies.
• Engage with pupils to improve motivation and re-engagement with learning, while upholding academy policies.
