Job summary

A leading mental health service provider in London is seeking a School Counsellor & Therapist to provide support at various educational institutions. The role requires a Level 5 qualification in counselling or therapy and experience working with children and young people. In addition, the position offers a generous pension contribution, professional development opportunities, and the chance to make a positive impact in your community.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least a Level 5 qualification in counselling, play therapy, or creative arts therapy.
  • Experience working with primary or secondary-aged young people is required.
  • Current professional membership is necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling and therapeutic support in primary and secondary schools.
  • Engage in regular clinical supervision and line-management support.
  • Facilitate continuing professional development.

Salary: £31,179 to £35,257 based on working five days (35 hours) per week (term-time)

The salary will be paid pro rata in line with the number of days per week you are contracted to work.

Locations
  • Primary school in Hillingdon (UB7) - one day per week
  • Secondary school in Hammersmith and Fulham (W12) - one day per week
  • Secondary school in Lambeth (SW16) - two days per week

Varied across London Primary, Secondary, Sixth form schools.

Your qualifications and skills
  • A qualification in counselling, play therapy or a creative arts therapy (we require at least a Level 5 qualification or above)
  • Completed a minimum of 100 clinical hours
  • Experience of working with primary or secondary aged young people (whichever is relevant to the role being applied for)
  • A good understanding of educational settings
  • Current membership of an appropriate professional body (BACP, BAPT, BADth, BAAT, BAMT etc.)
  • Where applicable to your qualification/training, be HCPC registered or professionally accredited (or actively working towards accreditation)
